Education Without Borders: Supporting Rama’s Medical Dream

Rama’s Story
Rama is a 22-year-old medical student from Syria with an extraordinary story of resilience. The fourth of ten siblings, she grew up in Aleppo until war forced her family to flee their home in 2012. Just days later, their house was destroyed, and life as they knew it was gone forever.
Even while displaced, living with relatives or in a tent, Rama never gave up on her education. After surviving a seven-month siege, her family was eventually reunited in Türkiye.

A Dream to Heal
Despite enormous challenges, Rama taught herself Turkish, completed high school, and passed the highly competitive TR-YÖS exam. Today, she studies at the Faculty of Medicine at Mersin University, one of the few Syrian refugees to reach this milestone.
Why We’re Fundraising
Tuition, books, and accommodation are beyond what Rama’s family can manage. Her father, once a lawyer in Syria, now works long hours in a fabric factory earning a modest wage to support ten children. Without support, Rama risks putting her studies on hold and losing years of hard-earned progress.
